Czech Government Scholarships for International Students 2023-2024

The Czech government offered scholarships for international students to study at higher education institutions in the Czech Republic. These scholarships were provided through various programs and initiatives to promote international cooperation and cultural exchange.   • Must have Bachelor's Degree for Master's Programs
  • Must have Master's or equivalent Certificate for Ph.D. programs
  • Must be Medically Good

  • Declaration about the Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions Governing the Granting of Scholarships by the Government of the Czech Republic (signed by his/her own hand)
  • Declaration about the Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions Governing the Provision of Health Services (signed by his/her own hand)
  • Affirmation on Return to the Country of Origin upon Completion of Studies (signed by his/her own hand)

If I come from a developing country, can I still apply for the Czech Government Scholarship?

No, based on the resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic, the scholarship of the Government of the Czech Republic is limited only to applicants from Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Georgia, Cambodia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Zambia. I am not a citizen of an eligible country, but I am a permanent resident of an eligible country. Can I still apply?

No, the scholarship is only intended for citizens of eligible countries.
 
What are the Master's and Doctoral study programs I can choose from?
 
The list of study programs is updated for every academic year in spring and published on the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports of the Czech Republic. Please, check the offer before applying.
 
Where can I apply for an undergraduate fully funded scholarship?

Each applicant is obliged to fill in an electronic application form available at http://registr.dzs.cz/registr.nsf at the latest by 30 September 2023. However, this information is relevant only to applicants from eligible countries for the Czech Government Scholarship.
 
Can I apply for an Undergraduate or Master's study program if I already graduated from another Master's program?
 
Graduates of Master's degree programs can no longer be awarded a government scholarship to study at a lower or the same level of the study program.
 
I come from a developing country. Can I get a scholarship for my doctoral studies?

The fully funded Czech Government Scholarship is offered only for limited fields of studies and to students of the following countries: Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Georgia, Cambodia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Zambia. You can find out more details on the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport of the Czech Republic. Once you choose the program which suits you the best, we advise you to contact the university directly because each university has different conditions for scholarships offered to Ph.D. students. Why is it not possible to study a doctoral study program in the Czech language?
 
According to the current conditions, the Czech government scholarship does not offer any doctoral study programs in the Czech language. This may change in the future. If you want to study in the Czech language, you can apply for a doctoral scholarship provided directly by the university.

I am a student from an eligible country, and I am currently studying at a Czech university. Can I still apply for the Czech Government Scholarship?
 
Yes, but only if you are a student of selected study programs at a Czech university. After finding your study programme in the list, you have to submit an online application and send the required documentations in two copies to the following address: Ministerstvo zahraničních věcí České republiky, Odbor rozvojové spolupráce a humanitární pomoci, Loretánské náměstí 5, 118 00 Praha 1 by December 20, 2023. Since you are currently studying at a Czech university, we would refer you to the STUDY IN website, where you can find a lot of information about other ways of obtaining scholarships for students from abroad (e.g.: Visegrad scholarships, university scholarships, etc.).
 
I come from an EU member country, and I am already studying at a Czech university. Where and how can I apply for a scholarship?


The Czech Government Scholarship is intended only for applicants from 8 selected countries (Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Georgia, Cambodia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Zambia). The offer of scholarships for students from the EU can be found on the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports of the Czech Republic. Further scholarship options are listed on the website of STUDY IN.
 
I am from a non-EU country, and I am looking for a research study. Where can I apply? 
The Czech Government Scholarship is dedicated solely to promoting studies, if you are interested in a research visit, please go to the STUDY IN website, where you can learn about a wide range of options for doing research in the Czech Republic.

Do I need to take any tests during the application process?

Yes, the application for study programs in English includes an English test and a General knowledge test. If you apply for a study program in Czech, you only take the General knowledge test. In case of omission of any compulsory tests, your application will not be preceded.
