Brief description:

The Erasmus Mundus Master's Programme in GEM (Geo-information Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modelling and Management) is a specialised graduate programme made possible by the Erasmus Mundus project. Erasmus Mundus is a European Union programme that promotes high-quality European education while also encouraging worldwide cooperation in higher education. The GEM programme is intended to give students advanced knowledge and skills in geo-information science and earth observation for environmental modelling and management.

II.    Eligible Countries:  All countries are eligible

III.   Level/Duration of Study:  

  • Two Years Master's Programs

IV.    Taught Programs:  

  • English

V.      Scholarship Benefits:

The scholarship provides financial support to cover the following expenses.

  • Tuition Waiver
  • Registration Fees
  • Participation costs €4500-9000€ per year
  • Contribution Costs €2000-3000€ per year
  • Travel and others Costs €1000 - €4000 per year
  • Stipend €1000 per month for  Two years

  • Total 15 Seats available for all countries

VI.      Eligibility:

Eligible applicants must meet the following conditions

  • Bachelor or master's degree (1st class) in GIS, Geography, Geology, Computer Science or Engineering a related discipline
  • Results awaiting or final semester candidates can also apply for this programme
  • There is no age limit
  • Applicants must meet Language requirements 
The minimum test scores are:
  • B2 in English except when English is your mother tongue. If not, please provide one of the following documents:
  • IELTS (Academic Test): 6.5,
  • TOEFL (IBT) : 90 
  • Trinity ISE III Certificate with distinctions in all four components.
  • Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) Grade C or Above
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) Grade C or Above.
  • If your country is not on the list of exempted countries, you need to submit the results of a recognized English test (above mentioned)

  • There are 56  exempted countries (Check your country name)

  • Passport (Must be valid)
  • Degree/Pass/Provisional/Hope Certificate
  • Transcripts/Mark sheets/Score Cards
  • Motivation letter (Official Template)
  • Research Proposal (Two Pages)
  • Two Recommendation Letters (Optional)
  • Residence Certificate  (Minimum 12 months old)
  • IELTS/TOEFL or any other Language Proficiency Certificate
  • Experiences Certificates (Preferred)
  • Thesis/Researcher paper  publications (Optional)

  • October-2023  to January 2024

IX.      How to Apply:

    • Prepare all required documents then The application form (Click here) must be completed entirely in English.
    • Before beginning your application, ensure that you have all of the required documents in PDF format that you will need to upload to your application and must be less than 5 Mb in Size.
    • All documentation must be written in English. If this is not the case, include an English translation completed by a certified, court-approved translator who is recognised by the issuing country.
    • After submitting your application, you will automatically get a notice of receipt through e-mail.
    • You are not permitted to submit more than one application.
